How Times Wizard handles data
Last updated: July 12, 2026
Overview
Times Wizard is a times-tables practice app for children and families. The app is designed to work without an account. Most progress, settings, and game data stay in the browser on the device that is using the app.
Data stored on your device
Times Wizard stores a save file in browser local storage. That save file includes learning progress, selected tables, app settings, age bracket, pet state, rewards, a generated user ID, and answer history used by the learning engine. The age bracket is used to choose an initial response-time model; it is not a date of birth.
The app also stores your cookie and ads consent choice in browser local storage. You can remove local data by clearing site data in your browser or by using the backup and restore tools in the app.
Data sent to Times Wizard servers
Times Wizard sends answer events to the same-origin service at timeswizard.com. Each event can include the generated user ID, the multiplication fact shown, the displayed order, whether the answer was correct, the answer entered, response time when relevant, game mode, client timestamp, server timestamp, app version, and learning algorithm version. This data helps operate and improve the learning system.
If you enable push reminders, Times Wizard stores the browser push endpoint, push keys, reminder time, timezone, theme, and recent reminder activity needed to send reminders and avoid sending unnecessary reminders. Push subscriptions are removed when they expire or after extended inactivity.
Like most websites, the hosting and service infrastructure may process standard request metadata such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, and request time for security, debugging, and operations.
Login provider data
The app does not require sign-in. If you choose optional sign-in, Times Wizard uses the minimum account information returned by the login provider to authenticate you and connect app data to your account, such as provider user ID and email address when provided. Times Wizard does not request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts, or other provider content.
Times Wizard does not sell Google user data, use it for personalized ads, transfer it to data brokers, or use it to train AI models.
Analytics, ads, and cookies
Google Consent Mode defaults to denied. If you reject consent, Times Wizard does not load Google Analytics or Google AdSense network scripts. If you accept, the app may load Google Analytics and a non-personalised AdSense placement on substantial parent-facing guide articles. Ads do not appear in games or the learning dashboard, and ad personalisation and ad-user-data consent remain denied.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to serve and measure ads when ads are loaded. Google explains how it uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
You can change this choice from Settings. Rejecting after acceptance immediately updates Google Consent Mode and removes app ad placements; reloading the page also unloads scripts that were previously accepted.
Children and families
Times Wizard is intended for family use and is designed to collect as little personal information as practical. Parents or guardians can contact Times Wizard to ask about data associated with their child, request deletion, or raise a privacy concern.
Retention and deletion
Browser data remains on your device until you delete it, reset progress, import a different backup, or clear site data. Server-side reminder data is kept only while needed to provide reminders. Server-side answer events are kept while needed to run, protect, and improve the service, unless deletion is requested and Times Wizard can identify the relevant data.
Security
Times Wizard is served over HTTPS and uses same-origin API calls for app services. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, but access to operational data is limited to what is needed to run and maintain the service.
Contact
Questions, parent requests, and deletion requests can be sent to [email protected].
